Successfull abstract submissions to ESMO 2026

Several of our Working Groups have successfully submitted their work to the annual congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology and have been accepted for Poster presentation at ESMO 2026 in Madrid. The projects address different clinically relevant questions in the field of advanced melanoma:

CSEEREG/DAMMED This analysis investigates whether stage IV melanoma patients from CSEEMEG countries had worse treatment outcomes compared to patients treated in Denmark during the same defined time periods. The aim is to systematically evaluate potential differences in outcomes between these cohorts.

MelaSite This project examines whether the efficacy of immunotherapy in advanced cutaneous melanoma varies according to the primary tumor location. In addition, it seeks to elucidate underlying factors that may explain any observed differences.

Early Treatment Discontinuation The aim of the project is to investigate clinical outcomes in Danish patients with advanced melanoma who have discontinued first-line ICI treatment (anti-PD1 or anti-PD1 + anti-CTLA-4) prior to 18 months due to an objective response (CR/PR) or stable disease (SD) following the Danish discontinuation guidelines. In the study clinical outcomes from the Danish patients are compared to clinical outcomes from a matching population of patients with advanced melanoma from EUMelaReg also treated with first-line ICI who had an objective response or stable disease prior to 18 months but have not discontinued ICI treatment prior to the two-year landmark.

These contributions highlight the ongoing efforts of our groups to address clinically meaningful questions and optimize treatment strategies in advanced melanoma.
